Manufacturing engineers turn a product design into a repeatable production process, choosing machines, tooling, fixtures, and assembly sequences. Much of the job is spent on the shop floor proving that a process holds tolerance shift after shift.
Aerospace engineers design, analyse, and test aircraft, spacecraft, propulsion systems, and their structures. The work is heavily governed by airworthiness and safety regulation, so analysis, testing, and documentation all have to stand up to independent scrutiny.
Automotive engineers develop vehicles and vehicle systems, from body structures and suspensions to powertrains, batteries, and electronics. Development runs in cycles of design, build, instrumented testing, and revision against cost, weight, safety, and emissions targets.
Robotics engineers design, program, and integrate robotic cells and autonomous equipment, combining mechanical design, sensing, control, and software. The work is genuinely cross-disciplinary and involves a lot of iteration on real hardware before a cell behaves reliably.
