- Carry out pre-operation inspections of the crane, ropes, hooks, and safety devices.
- Confirm the lift plan, load weight, radius, and configuration against the load chart before lifting.
- Set up outriggers, mats, and counterweights and confirm ground bearing is adequate.
- Operate the crane to hoist, slew, and place loads following signals or radio from the rigger.
- Monitor wind speed, swing, obstructions, and exclusion zones and stop the lift when conditions change.
- Record inspections, faults, and operating hours and report defects for maintenance.
