How this works and stays honest
- Only the article you choose is fetched, from Europe PMC — nothing is stored on our server.
- The breakdown is built in your browser and saved only on this device (IndexedDB) until you delete it.
- When only the abstract is openly available, the breakdown covers the abstract and says so — it is never padded with invented detail.
- Every claim quotes the paper and links back to it, with the license shown.
What “study a paper” does
Research papers are dense, and reading one to learn from it is slow work. Study a paper takes an open-access article and rebuilds it as a study space: a summary, structured notes, flashcards, a quiz, a concept map, and an Ask terminal — all drawn from the paper's own text, with every claim linked back to it.
Articles come from Europe PMC, a large open index of the biomedical and life-sciences literature. When the full text is openly available, the breakdown is built from it; when only the abstract is open, the breakdown covers the abstract and says so, rather than inventing the rest.
How it works
Search or paste an identifier
Search Europe PMC by keywords, or paste a DOI or PMID. Results show the title, authors, journal, and whether the full text or only the abstract is open.
Pick an article
Choose a result to study. Novus Learn fetches that article's metadata and full text (or abstract) from Europe PMC — nothing is stored on our server.
It becomes a source-grounded project
The paper is turned into sections and source blocks, and the same study tools are generated from it, each claim tied back to the passage it came from.
Study it and cite it
The project is saved on your device. You can study it, and download a fully-referenced source list with the article's license and link.
Honest about open access
Not every article has an openly redistributable full text. Novus Learn reads the full text only when Europe PMC holds the open-access version; otherwise it works from the abstract and marks the breakdown as limited-source. The article's own license is always shown, and the link back to Europe PMC is always there.
As with every source, the study material is extractive: it organises the paper's own sentences rather than paraphrasing them, so it stays faithful to what the authors wrote.
