How this stays private
- Files are read and parsed in your browser; their contents are never sent to a server.
- The generated project is stored only in this browser (IndexedDB) until you delete it.
- Malformed, binary, empty, or oversized files are rejected with a clear message.
- Every claim keeps its source location — a line range for text, a page for PDFs, a timestamp for transcripts.
What “break down a textbook” does
A textbook is too long to re-read and too dense to skim. Break down a textbook takes a whole book or long document and turns it into a chapter-by-chapter study space: each chapter gets its key points, concepts, flashcards, a quiz, and a concept map, with every claim linked to the exact line it came from — so you can work through a book in hours instead of weeks.
It is the same source-grounded engine used everywhere in Novus Learn, scaled to book length. The document is split into modules, and points are extracted from each chapter rather than piling into the opening pages. Nothing is summarised by an AI or invented; if a chapter cannot support a point, it is left out.

It splits into chapters
Novus Learn detects the book's chapters and builds a bounded set of key points per chapter, so coverage spans the whole book, each point tied back to its source line.
Study it module by module
Open the module-by-module breakdown, then use the summary, notes, flashcards, quiz, guided lesson, and concept map — all built only from the book's own words and saved locally on your device.
Built for book length
Long uploads are parsed on a background worker so the page stays responsive, with progress shown chapter by chapter. Files up to 10 MB are supported, which comfortably covers a full-length book's text.
Because points are chosen per chapter, a thirty-chapter book is covered end to end — not just its introduction — while the output stays bounded so the study tools and search remain fast.
Private and source-grounded
The book never leaves your browser, there is no account, and nothing is sent to a server. The breakdown is extractive: it organises the book's own sentences rather than rewriting them, and every claim opens the exact passage it came from.

Will the whole book be covered, or just the start?
The whole book. Key points are extracted per chapter, with prominence measured within each chapter, so later chapters are covered as well as the first — unlike a single global pass that favours the opening pages.
Is any of it written by AI?
No. Every point is a sentence from the book itself, linked to its exact location. Nothing is generated or invented.
