Manufacturing engineer
Manufacturing engineers turn a product design into a repeatable production process, choosing machines, tooling, fixtures, and assembly sequences. Much of the job is spent on the shop floor proving that a process holds tolerance shift after shift.

What the work involves
- Develop process routings, work instructions, and tooling or fixture requirements.
- Select and specify machines, cutting tools, jigs, and automation for a given part family.
- Run process trials, capture measurements, and tune parameters until output is stable.
- Investigate scrap, rework, and machine stoppages with operators and maintenance.
- Support new product introduction reviews and feed manufacturability issues back to design.
- Maintain process documentation, control plans, and change records.

- An accredited bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
- An engineering technology diploma plus shop-floor experience, followed by a bridging route.
