Wind turbine technician
Wind turbine technicians maintain, inspect, and repair the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems inside turbines, usually after climbing or riding a lift to the nacelle. The work is a mix of scheduled servicing and unplanned fault call-outs, done at height and in weather that decides whether the day happens at all. Rescue and working-at-height training is part of the job, not an add-on.

What the work involves
Climb towers and carry out scheduled service on gearboxes, generators, brakes, and yaw systems.
Diagnose faults from turbine controller alarms and SCADA trend data before going up.
Torque and tension bolted connections and replace filters, seals, and lubricants.
Test and replace electrical components including converters, sensors, and pitch systems.
Inspect blades and towers for damage, erosion, or lightning strike evidence.
Complete service reports, defect notifications, and lockout records for each turbine visited.
