Occupation
Stationary engineer
Stationary engineers operate and maintain the boilers, chillers, compressors, and pumps that heat, cool, and power hospitals, campuses, industrial sites, and large buildings. They hold responsibility for pressure equipment that has to be watched, tested, and logged whether or not anything is going wrong. Certificate classes usually govern how large a plant a person may take charge of.
