Customer success manager

Customer success managers work with existing customers after purchase to make sure they actually get value from what they bought, and therefore stay. The role combines onboarding and training with usage monitoring, proactive check-ins, and renewal conversations. It requires enough product knowledge to be useful and enough commercial awareness to know when to escalate.

  2. Monitor usage and health indicators and reach out before problems become churn

  3. Run review sessions covering progress against the customer's stated goals

  4. Route bugs, feature requests, and complaints to the right internal team and follow up

  5. Prepare renewal conversations and flag at-risk accounts internally

  6. Document account context so colleagues can pick up the relationship
