Business analyst
Business analysts sit between the people who need something changed and the people who will build or deliver it. They elicit what a process or system has to do, write it down precisely enough to be built and tested, and keep the definition honest as constraints emerge. Much of the job is asking uncomfortable clarifying questions early so the wrong thing does not get built.

What the work involves
Run workshops and interviews to capture how a current process works and where it breaks
Write requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that a delivery team can act on
Map process flows and data flows, and document the gaps between current and target states
Analyse operational data to check whether a proposed change addresses the real bottleneck
Facilitate decisions between stakeholders whose priorities conflict
Support testing and rollout by confirming that what was delivered matches what was agreed
