Building code enforcement officer
Code enforcement officers deal with work and buildings that are already out of compliance: unpermitted construction, unsafe structures, and breaches of local building bylaws. - Negotiate compliance timelines with owners and re-inspect to confirm the work was corrected.
- Prepare evidence files and give testimony at hearings, tribunals, or court where enforcement escalates.
