Construction site superintendent
Site superintendents run the day-to-day operation of a construction site: who is working where, what arrives when, and whether the work is safe and correct. They are the contractor's senior presence on site and answer for progress, safety, and quality on the ground. The role is almost entirely site-based, often starting early and dealing with problems as they surface.

What the work involves
- Set the daily and weekly work plan and sequence trades so they are not working over each other.
- Walk the site to check workmanship, safety compliance, and progress against the programme.
- Run start-of-shift briefings and toolbox talks and record attendance and hazards.
- Coordinate deliveries, craneage, access, and temporary works with the trades that need them.
- Inspect and sign off completed work and raise and chase defects lists.
- Report progress, delays, incidents, and resource needs to the project manager.
