Operations analysts study how work flows through an organisation and quantify where it stalls. They pull data from operational systems, model capacity and demand, and propose changes to scheduling, routing, or process design. The output is usually a measured recommendation rather than an opinion.

- Extract and clean operational data from scheduling, ticketing, or production systems
- Build models of throughput, capacity, queueing, or cost to locate the constraint
- Design and evaluate a trial change before it is rolled out more widely
- Build dashboards and reports that operational managers can act on without an analyst
- Document process changes and the assumptions behind each recommendation

- A bachelor's degree in operations research, industrial engineering, mathematics, economics, or business analytics
- A college diploma in business analytics or operations combined with hands-on reporting work
- Internal movement from a coordinator or scheduling role into a dedicated analysis role
