Management consultant
Management consultants are brought into an organisation to study a problem it cannot resolve on its own and to recommend what should change. The work moves between interviewing staff, analysing operational and financial data, and presenting findings to the people who will have to act on them. Assignments are usually time-bound, so consultants join a client, deliver a recommendation, and move to the next engagement.

- Interview client staff and managers to understand how a process actually works
- Gather operational, financial, and customer data and reconcile conflicting sources
- Build models and comparisons that test whether a proposed change would hold up
- Draft recommendation decks and walk clients through the evidence behind each option
- Support implementation by setting up tracking, governance, and hand-over documents
- Write up engagement notes so the client can continue the work without the consultant
