Marine service technician
Marine service technicians maintain and repair boats and their engines, drives, electrical systems, and onboard equipment. Saltwater and constant vibration make corrosion and fatigue everyday problems, and a fault at sea has different consequences than one on a driveway. Work happens in yards, at docks, and sometimes on the water during sea trials.

- Diagnose inboard, outboard, and sterndrive engine faults using diagnostic software and mechanical tests.
- Service and rebuild drives, propellers, shafts, steering, and control systems.
- Trace and repair marine electrical faults, corrosion damage, and bonding or charging problems.
- Winterise, commission, and carry out seasonal servicing on customer vessels.
- Install and repair onboard systems such as pumps, plumbing, and navigation equipment.
- Conduct sea trials to confirm a repair and record the work for the owner.
