Occupation

Insulator

Insulators apply thermal, acoustic, and fire-stopping insulation to pipework, ductwork, vessels, and building elements, then finish it with jacketing or cladding. The work is measurement-heavy and pattern-based, particularly around fittings and valves. Because older buildings and plant may contain asbestos or other hazardous materials, controlled removal and respiratory protection are part of the trade.
