Project engineers carry technical responsibility for delivering an engineering project, coordinating design, procurement, construction or build, and handover. The role sits between the engineering disciplines and the commercial side, and much of the day is spent chasing decisions and resolving clashes.

- Break the technical scope into work packages and track progress against the plan.
- Review discipline drawings and vendor documents and resolve interface conflicts.
- Raise technical queries, evaluate supplier offers, and confirm equipment specifications.
- Attend site or shop-floor progress meetings and report status, risks, and issues.
- Manage the change and non-conformance process on the technical scope.
- Compile commissioning, testing, and handover documentation for the client or operations.
