Production supervisor
Production supervisors run a shift, line, or cell: allocating people, keeping the schedule moving, and dealing with whatever interrupts it. They sit between operators and plant management, so the job mixes hands-on troubleshooting with coaching, safety enforcement, and reporting. Most supervisors come up from the floor and keep detailed knowledge of the process.

Assign operators to lines and stations and adjust the plan when absence or breakdowns hit
Run shift handovers and briefings covering safety, quality, and the day's priorities
Investigate quality holds, downtime, and near misses and start corrective actions
Coach new operators, sign off training records, and manage attendance and conduct issues
Report output, scrap, and downtime against targets and explain variances to management
Enforce lock-out, permit, and protective equipment rules and stop unsafe work
