Production assemblers put components together into finished or sub-assembled products, working to a documented build sequence at a bench or along a line. The work is deliberately repetitive, because consistency is what keeps a product inside specification. Assemblers also make first-line checks and pull anything that does not fit or measure correctly.

What the work involves
- Read work instructions, build sheets, and assembly drawings before starting a run
- Fit, fasten, solder, or bond components using hand tools and powered tooling
- Check finished assemblies against a checklist and set aside anything out of specification
- Record completed units, batch numbers, and rework on production paperwork or a shop-floor terminal
- Keep the workstation stocked and set up for the incoming shift
- Follow guarding, lock-out, and protective equipment rules around moving machinery
