Occupation

Nurse practitioner

Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with additional graduate preparation who assess, diagnose, and manage patients within an expanded scope of practice. Depending on the jurisdiction that scope can include ordering diagnostic tests and prescribing. Much of the work looks like primary or specialty care clinic practice, with a nursing rather than medical framing of the patient.
