What the work involves
- Assess gum health, record pocket depths, and note changes since the last visit.
- Scale and polish teeth and apply fluoride, sealants, or other preventive agents.
- Take radiographs and intra-oral images where trained and permitted.
- Teach brushing, flossing, and interdental technique tailored to what the patient can realistically do.
- Flag suspicious lesions or disease progression to the supervising or referring dentist.
- Record treatment provided and set the recall interval for the patient.
