- Prepare the parlour, attach and monitor milking equipment, and follow udder-hygiene protocols.
- Clean and sanitise milking lines, bulk tanks, and holding areas between milkings.
- Monitor milk temperature, yield per animal, and somatic cell or quality alerts, and flag anything unusual.
- Feed the herd to the ration set by the nutritionist and adjust for stage of lactation.
- Watch for mastitis, lameness, and heat detection, and support breeding and veterinary work.
- Keep herd health, treatment, withdrawal, and milk-quality records up to date.
