Emergency dispatcher
Answers emergency and non-emergency calls, works out what is happening and where, and sends the right units while staying on the line with the caller. Dispatchers track unit status by radio and give pre-arrival instructions before responders reach the scene. The work is done entirely by voice and keyboard, under protocol, at speed.
