Save Aptitude Lesson Notes and Bookmarks Without an Account

Every aptitude skill lesson is divided into named sections such as objectives, examples, practice guidance, glossary, and sources. Beside each section heading is a Save control. Activating it records that section's stable fragment identifier and visible title in the notebook for that lesson. The control becomes pressed and changes to Saved, so returning to the heading shows whether it is already in your list. Activating it again removes the bookmark.

The saved list appears near the end of the same lesson. Each entry links back to its section on the page, which makes the notebook useful as navigation rather than as a detached favourites screen. Removing an entry from the list updates the heading control as well because both surfaces read one store. A lesson can hold up to forty section bookmarks; that ceiling prevents a saved-sections list from turning into a second copy of the page.

A bookmark saves the section title with its identifier. That small duplication is intentional. My Learning can name what you saved without loading the complete catalogue of lesson content into its browser bundle, and an older bookmark remains intelligible even if the lesson's internal content changes later.

Below the saved sections is a note box for your own writing: what finally clicked, which example to repeat, or what to ask a teacher. The note is capped at 4,000 characters. This is a focused lesson notebook rather than a document editor, and the cap protects the browser's shared local-storage allowance from one accidental book-length paste that could prevent other progress data from saving.

Typing updates the note on a short delay instead of rewriting the whole notebook on every keystroke. Moving focus away from the box flushes the pending text immediately, and leaving the component also saves a pending edit. The status message says when the note has been saved on this device. There is no cloud-save spinner because there is no cloud copy and no Novus Learn account waiting behind the control.

The lesson can also download its notebook as a plain-text file. That file includes the lesson title, saved section names with their public fragment links, your note, and a reminder that the content was kept locally. It is intentionally plain: your writing is not reflowed and branded as if Novus Learn authored it.

Notes and bookmarks are stored under Novus Learn's registered lesson-notebook key in this browser's local storage. They are not attached to an email address, sent with a practice submission, used for analytics, or exposed to advertising. Another site cannot read the origin's local storage. A second browser profile, a private window, or a different device also cannot see it, because those are separate storage spaces.

That is the privacy benefit and the durability tradeoff in one sentence: Novus Learn has no server copy to leak, sell, synchronize, or restore. Clearing site data removes the notebook. A browser reset, a storage-cleaning utility, a private session ending, or an administrator policy can do the same. Deleting a single lesson's notebook removes only that lesson through its own control; the broader site-data reset covers every registered resettable store.

Formal aptitude attempts remain a separate system. The note you write while studying is not included when a formal attempt is scored, and a bookmark does not count as progress or change a result. That separation keeps a personal reminder from silently becoming assessment data.

My Learning collects the device-local surfaces into one dashboard and provides the private backup control. Lesson notes and bookmarks are registered as durable, private, resettable, and backup-eligible data, so they are included in the Novus Learn backup archive along with the other supported local stores. The archive may contain source material, answers, notes, drafts, and career plans; treat it like a private file rather than a public export.

A backup is the deliberate bridge to another browser or device. Download it before clearing site data or replacing a machine, store it somewhere you control, and use the preview offered by the restore flow before merging or replacing records. The importer validates its version, structure, supported store names, record counts, and size limits rather than writing arbitrary archive contents into browser storage.

The text download and the private backup solve different problems. A text notebook is easy to read and share, but it cannot recreate the interactive Saved state beside every lesson heading. The backup preserves the registered data shape for restoration, but it may include much more private material than one lesson. Choose the smallest file that matches what you intend to do.

Save selectively. A bookmark is most useful for a worked example you want to retry, a pitfall you repeatedly miss, or a source you need to verify—not every heading on the page. In the note, write the action you will take next rather than copying the lesson: “redo example three without looking” is more useful on return than a paragraph already visible above it.

At the end of a session, follow the saved links once to confirm they still point at the intended headings. Download the text file if you want that one lesson in a notes application. If the writing matters across many lessons, use My Learning to make a private backup before any cleanup or browser migration. After restoring on another device, open one lesson and check both a bookmark and its note before relying on the rest of the archive.

Finally, remember what the feature does not promise. It is not account sync, collaborative annotation, or a cloud notebook. Two devices can hold different versions, and Novus Learn cannot reconcile them on a server it does not have. The controls name the storage location because an honest local-first tool should make that boundary visible at the moment you save, not hide it in a privacy page you read after something is lost.
