Take a reasoning form without misreading the result

Choose a family, sit the form, and know exactly what the number means.

1. Learn the item types first

The Practice Lab drills single item types untimed, with the reasoning explained. Working two or three modules before your first form means the timer is testing your reasoning rather than your familiarity with the format.

2. Choose a family

  • Quick forms: 18 scored questions in about 12 minutes.
  • Full forms: 54 scored questions in about 36 minutes, across all four domains.
  • Language-Light forms: 36 scored questions in about 24 minutes, with short prompts.

3. Sit it in one go

Starting a form creates a session with a fixed deadline. You can mark questions for review and come back to them before submitting, and an interruption on this device does not lose your answers, but the clock keeps running, so treat it as one sitting.

4. Read the result as what it is

The result is the share of questions you answered correctly on that one form. It is not an IQ, not a percentile, and not usable for Mensa, employment, placement, diagnosis or any legal or medical purpose. The FAQ says so in more detail, and it is worth reading before you tell anyone your number.

5. Retake a parallel form, not the same one

Retaking the form you just sat partly measures your memory of its questions. Each family has three forms built to the same blueprint with entirely different questions, so a parallel form is the honest retake.
