Map a documentation set into a library

Open Index a site and give it the page the documentation actually starts from, not the marketing home page. The index follows links outward from where you point it, so the starting point decides what it finds.

The result lists the pages it kept and the ones it dropped. Skimming that list first tells you whether the set is the one you wanted, and it is much cheaper to start again at a better entry point than to work through the wrong twelve pages.

Each kept page is its own project with its own claims and evidence. Study them in the order the documentation intends rather than the order the index found them, and use the quiz on each before moving on.

The projects appear together in My Library. Exporting each one produces a fully referenced study pack, which is what you want if the documentation is likely to change under you.

• A single article: use Read a URL instead, it is faster and cleaner.
• A book-length PDF: use Break down a textbook, which splits by chapter.
• A site that requires a sign-in: the indexer cannot reach it, and will say so.
