Help Centre
Which languages the site works in
The interface language, the source languages you can study from, and why those are two different lists.
Applies to Novus Learn 0.1.0
Two questions that get confused
Copy link“What language is the site in?” and “what language can I study in?” have different answers here, and conflating them is the mistake the language-support page exists to prevent. The interface and every written lesson are English. Study material, however, can be built from any of the Wikipedia language editions the search supports.
What that means in practice
Copy link- Menus, help pages, lessons and assessments are English only.
- A topic opened from another Wikipedia edition is in that edition's language.
- The dictionary follows the same rule: it reads the Wiktionary edition you choose.
What is not built yet
Copy linkThe wider Novus estate has a five-locale contract, and this site does not serve it: there is no localised route, and no part of the interface is translated. The page says that in plain terms instead of advertising a language switcher that would hand you an English page.
