About this practice suite
This suite prepares candidates for retail associate selection in the retail, hospitality, travel, tourism, and service sector with 5 skill areas: customer-service judgment, situational judgment, attention and concentration, numerical reasoning and verbal reasoning. Every question was written by Novus editors for this suite — none are taken from live or leaked exams — and the full bank holds 52 scored questions across three modes, plus 8 reserve questions used to vary repeat attempts. Answer keys never ship to the browser: your answers are scored server-side, and results stay on your device.
Skills this suite practises
- Customer-service judgment — Service recovery, communication, escalation, and policy application.
- Situational judgment — Evaluating workplace responses against role-relevant principles.
- Attention and concentration — Sustained focus, selective attention, and accuracy under time pressure.
- Numerical reasoning — Arithmetic, fractions, percentages, ratios, rates, estimation, word problems, and number relationships.
- Verbal reasoning — Drawing conclusions from written information without relying on outside assumptions.
Sample questions from the guided bank
Two of the 10 guided-practice questions, shown exactly as they appear in a session. Answers and explanations are not printed here — keys stay on the server — so open guided practice to answer them and see how you did.
A customer enters and looks lost near apparel. Best associate opener?
- A. Offer a friendly greeting and ask how you can help them find something
- B. Ignore them until they reach the register
- C. Hard-sell the most expensive item immediately
- D. Block the aisle with a cart
Line grows while you restock nearby. Best judgment?
- A. Finish the entire case before looking up
- B. Pause restocking, acknowledge waiting customers, and open help at the register/floor as needed
- C. Leave the store
- D. Argue with the line
Practice modes and timing
Guided practice is untimed-feeling and instructional; the mini-test is a short timed check; the full simulation mirrors a complete sitting. All three draw on separate question sets, so moving up a mode never repeats what you practised.

|---|---|---|---|
| Guided practice | 10 | 15 minutes | Open |
| Timed mini-test | 12 | 18 minutes | Open |
