About this practice suite
This suite prepares candidates for game-based assessment familiarization selection in the commercial assessment-provider familiarization sector with 5 skill areas: processing speed, working memory, attention and concentration, multitasking and monitoring and perceptual speed. Every question was written by Novus editors for this suite (none are taken from live or leaked exams), and the full bank holds 52 scored questions across three modes, plus 8 reserve questions used to vary repeat attempts. Answer keys never ship to the browser: your answers are scored server-side, and results stay on your device.
Skills this suite practises
- Processing speed: Completing simple cognitive operations accurately and efficiently.
- Working memory: Holding, updating, and manipulating short sequences, rules, or instructions.
- Attention and concentration: Sustained focus, selective attention, and accuracy under time pressure.
- Multitasking and monitoring: Tracking multiple streams, priorities, alerts, and changing conditions.
- Perceptual speed: Rapid visual comparison, symbol matching, and identification.
Sample questions from the guided bank
Two of the 10 guided-practice questions, shown exactly as they appear in a session. Answers and explanations are not printed here, because keys stay on the server. Open guided practice to answer them and see how you did.
In a timed matching mini-game, the best educational strategy is usually to:
- A. Guess randomly as fast as possible with no checking
- B. Balance speed with enough accuracy to avoid cascading errors
- C. Ignore instructions and invent your own scoring rules
- D. Pause indefinitely on every item
A game task flips its scoring rule halfway through (now penalties for errors rise). Best response?
- A. Keep the old strategy unchanged
- B. Quit the assessment immediately
- C. Update strategy to the new rule and recheck a sample item before continuing
- D. Argue with the on-screen character
Practice modes and timing
Guided practice is untimed-feeling and instructional; the mini-test is a short timed check; the full simulation mirrors a complete sitting. All three draw on separate question sets, so moving up a mode never repeats what you practised.
| Mode | Questions | Duration | Start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guided practice | 10 | 15 minutes | Open |
| Timed mini-test | 12 | 18 minutes | Open |
| Full simulation | 30 | 45 minutes | Open |
