About this practice suite
This suite prepares candidates for drone and remotely piloted aircraft knowledge preparation selection in the aviation, aerospace, air traffic, and airports sector with 5 skill areas: situational judgment, critical thinking, spatial reasoning, attention and concentration and deductive reasoning. Every question was written by Novus editors for this suite — none are taken from live or leaked exams — and the full bank holds 52 scored questions across three modes, plus 8 reserve questions used to vary repeat attempts. Answer keys never ship to the browser: your answers are scored server-side, and results stay on your device.
Skills this suite practises
- Situational judgment — Evaluating workplace responses against role-relevant principles.
- Critical thinking — Evaluating evidence, assumptions, arguments, credibility, and alternative explanations.
- Spatial reasoning — Rotation, folding, views, orientation, maps, and three-dimensional visualization.
- Attention and concentration — Sustained focus, selective attention, and accuracy under time pressure.
- Deductive reasoning — Applying stated rules and constraints to reach valid conclusions.
Sample questions from the guided bank
Two of the 10 guided-practice questions, shown exactly as they appear in a session. Answers and explanations are not printed here — keys stay on the server — so open guided practice to answer them and see how you did.
Before every sUAS flight in controlled airspace you must:
- A. Fly to 400 feet before checking maps
- B. Launch immediately if GPS lock is good
- C. Obtain required authorization and check airspace status
- D. Rely on bystanders to warn manned traffic
Standard maximum altitude for most recreational sUAS without waiver is:
- A. Class A only
- B. 1,000 feet MSL everywhere
- C. Any altitude with visual contact
- D. 400 feet AGL unless higher obstacle clearance is required
Practice modes and timing
Guided practice is untimed-feeling and instructional; the mini-test is a short timed check; the full simulation mirrors a complete sitting. All three draw on separate question sets, so moving up a mode never repeats what you practised.
| Mode | Questions | Duration | Start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guided practice | 10 | 15 minutes | Open |
| Timed mini-test | 12 | 18 minutes | Open |
| Full simulation | 30 | 45 minutes | Open |
