About this practice suite
This suite prepares candidates for data entry selection in the administration, clerical, records, and office support sector with 5 skill areas: data checking and clerical accuracy, error detection, typing and keyboard skills, attention and concentration and processing speed. Every question was written by Novus editors for this suite — none are taken from live or leaked exams — and the full bank holds 52 scored questions across three modes, plus 8 reserve questions used to vary repeat attempts. Answer keys never ship to the browser: your answers are scored server-side, and results stay on your device.
Skills this suite practises
- Data checking and clerical accuracy — Matching, filing, coding, record checking, and identifying discrepancies.
- Error detection — Comparing strings, records, transactions, forms, and data for mistakes.
- Typing and keyboard skills — Text typing, numeric keypad, transcription, and data-entry speed and accuracy.
- Attention and concentration — Sustained focus, selective attention, and accuracy under time pressure.
- Processing speed — Completing simple cognitive operations accurately and efficiently.
Sample questions from the guided bank
Two of the 10 guided-practice questions, shown exactly as they appear in a session. Answers and explanations are not printed here — keys stay on the server — so open guided practice to answer them and see how you did.
Data entry quality is best judged by:
- A. Accuracy against source rules, not keystrokes alone
- B. How loudly you type
- C. Skipping validation always
- D. Speed with no checks
A form requires dates as YYYY-MM-DD but the source shows 07/28/2026. Best entry?
- A. 07/28/2026 unchanged if the field rejects it
- B. 28-07-2026 only
- C. 2026-07-28
- D. July 28th
Practice modes and timing
Guided practice is untimed-feeling and instructional; the mini-test is a short timed check; the full simulation mirrors a complete sitting. All three draw on separate question sets, so moving up a mode never repeats what you practised.
| Mode | Questions | Duration | Start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guided practice | 10 | 15 minutes | Open |
| Timed mini-test | 12 | 18 minutes | Open |
