About this practice suite
This suite prepares candidates for bookkeeping selection in the finance, accounting, banking, and insurance sector with 5 skill areas: numerical reasoning, attention and concentration, situational judgment, technical reasoning and planning and scheduling exercises. Every question was written by Novus editors for this suite — none are taken from live or leaked exams — and the full bank holds 52 scored questions across three modes, plus 8 reserve questions used to vary repeat attempts. Answer keys never ship to the browser: your answers are scored server-side, and results stay on your device.
Skills this suite practises
- Numerical reasoning — Arithmetic, fractions, percentages, ratios, rates, estimation, word problems, and number relationships.
- Attention and concentration — Sustained focus, selective attention, and accuracy under time pressure.
- Situational judgment — Evaluating workplace responses against role-relevant principles.
- Technical reasoning — Applied technical principles, diagrams, tools, systems, measurements, and troubleshooting.
- Planning and scheduling exercises — Resources, dependencies, deadlines, constraints, and contingency planning.
Sample questions from the guided bank
Two of the 10 guided-practice questions, shown exactly as they appear in a session. Answers and explanations are not printed here — keys stay on the server — so open guided practice to answer them and see how you did.
A supplier invoice for office supplies bought on account is typically entered as:
- A. Debit cash; credit sales
- B. Debit owner's capital; credit inventory
- C. Debit expense (or supplies); credit accounts payable
- D. Debit revenue; credit drawings
You have a signed check stub but cannot locate the invoice. Best first step?
- A. Hold posting until the source document is obtained or missing-document policy is followed
- B. Guess an amount and post to miscellaneous expense
- C. Record it as owner drawings automatically
- D. Delete the payment from the bank feed
Practice modes and timing
Guided practice is untimed-feeling and instructional; the mini-test is a short timed check; the full simulation mirrors a complete sitting. All three draw on separate question sets, so moving up a mode never repeats what you practised.
| Mode | Questions | Duration | Start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guided practice | 10 | 15 minutes | Open |
| Timed mini-test | 12 | 18 minutes | Open |
| Full simulation | 30 | 45 minutes | Open |
